What is a Thread………

Thread is also called as lightweight process.A thread is a single sequential flow of control within a program. All programmers are familiar with writing sequential programs. You’ve probably written a program that displays “Hello World!”, or sorts a list of names, or computes a list of prime numbers. These are sequential programs: each has a beginning, an execution sequence, and an end. At any given time during the runtime of the program there is a single point of execution. Threaded environments like Java allow a thread to put locks on shared resources so that while one thread is using data no other thread can touch that data. This is done with with synchronization. Synchronization should be used sparingly since the purpose of threading is defeated if the entire system gets stopped waiting for a lock to be released. The proper choice of objects and methods to synchronize is one of the more difficult things to learn about threaded programming. Java applications and applets are naturally threaded. The runtime environment starts execution of the program with the main() method in one thread. Garbage collection takes place in another thread. Screen updating occurs in a third thread. There may be other threads running as well, mostly related to the behavior of the virtual machine. All of this happens invisibly to the programmer. Some of the time you’re only concerned with what happens in the primary thread which includes the main() method of a program. If this is the case you may not need to worry about threading at all.

What is Buzz?

Google’s Buzz, which adds Social Networking features to their popular GMail service, is a bit too Alpha and uncontrolled for me to participate in it right now.
Google’s Buzz seems to have most all the features that Twitter is missing, and Google is clearly going to take advantage of all the benefits of being Google to make it popular — most notably the inboxes of unspecified millions of Gmail users who’ll get Buzz as a service-within-the-service. My impression is that Google really, really wants this to be the dominant service in the still-evolving category of “that thing that Twitter does that doesn’t have a good name yet.”

“Rich fast sharing” combines sources like Picasa and Twitter into a single feed, and it includes full-sized photo browsing

HTC launched new phone…..

HTC is a major smartphone manufacturer, originally producing primarily Windows Mobile phones, although they have recently changed their focus to Android devices.
HTC  launched  new window  phone  know as  HTC  Android .
It is not every day you get new details on five Android phones. Someone close to HTC has obtained their roadmap for the first half of 2010 and leaked all the details. I’m so overwhelmed right now that I am still trying to process all this information. I wanted to get the pics and specs up first and I will add my commentary in a few minutes.It seems this one will be a low cost smartphone, targeting the younger buyers.
